A built-in wardrobe price depends on more than its width. Height, depth, doors, internal drawers and specialist fittings all shape the final quotation. Before comparing wardrobe prices in Singapore, sketch what needs to fit inside and decide how you want to access it.

Meerkat Home's full-height cabinet reference rate is S$549 per foot run for cabinets up to 2.7m high. The examples below use that rate and the quotation guide's rounded estimating convention of 3.3ft per metre. They are wardrobe line-item illustrations within a whole-home project; the minimum project spend is S$15,000.

Built-in wardrobe budgeting examples

Illustrative width Calculation Reference subtotal
1.8m 1.8 × 3.3 × S$549 S$3,261.06
2.4m 2.4 × 3.3 × S$549 S$4,348.08
3.0m 3 × 3.3 × S$549 S$5,435.10

Confirm the current rate, dimensions, door specification and included services. These figures do not establish GST treatment or the inclusion of every accessory shown in a wardrobe display. A walk-in dressing room with several cabinet runs, lighting and premium finishes needs a separate measured quotation.

Internal layout can change value as much as size

Start with long hanging, short hanging, folded clothing and small accessories. Count how many drawers you need and decide which shelves should be adjustable. A wide cabinet full of unsuitable compartments can be less useful than a smaller wardrobe designed around your daily routine.

Our reference guide provides one drawer per metre of full-height cabinetry. Ask how that allowance is applied to your layout, including rounding, drawer sizes and additional drawers. A drawer allowance is not a promise of unlimited internal fittings.

Hinged doors, sliding doors and open wardrobes

Hinged doors need clearance in front of the cabinet. Sliding doors need a compatible track system and suitable access to the compartments behind them. An open wardrobe changes the design brief, but removing doors does not imply a fixed percentage discount. Request an alternative quotation based on the actual construction.

Glass doors, special surfaces, recessed handles and integrated lighting can change the price. Specify the finish code and fitting model so the approved sample, drawing and quotation refer to the same product.

Check ceiling height and installation access

The S$549 reference rate assumes a height up to 2.7m. Our guide uses a proportional adjustment above that reference; for example, 3m gives 300 ÷ 270 × S$549 = S$610/pfr. Final construction details remain subject to the design quotation.

Check skirting, wall irregularities, beams and electrical access before signing off the wardrobe. In a compact bedroom, allow the designer to demonstrate how doors and drawers open around the bed. This is especially useful when planning storage for an HDB room or condo bedroom.

Frequently asked questions

Is a walk-in wardrobe priced like a single straight wardrobe?

It can involve multiple cabinet runs and additional elements. Ask for a dimensioned plan and a subtotal for each section, plus any island, vanity, lighting or display features.

Can I get a firm price from width alone?

Width supports an initial calculation. A firm quotation also needs height, depth, materials, internal layout, fittings and site conditions.
