A kitchen can look tidy with every door closed. The real test is what happens when you start making coffee, reach for a pan or put groceries away. In this Meerkat Home condo kitchen walkthrough, the useful details are inside the cabinets: layered drawers, accessible corner fittings and a pantry that brings its contents forward.
The kitchen pairs warm wood-tone lower and tall cabinetry with light upper cabinets and a white worktop. The supplied project video shows how that coordinated exterior supports several different storage arrangements, each designed around what the homeowner actually uses.
Watch the kitchen walkthrough
In the video: coffee and drinks station at approximately 00:05; custom drawers at 00:12; cooking-zone drawers and condiment storage at 00:22; corner storage at 00:38; the sink cabinet at 00:49; and the tall pantry at 01:08.
A dedicated coffee and drinks station
The drinks area combines a worktop for everyday appliances with illuminated glazed cabinets above. Cups, glasses and bottles have a visible place, while drawers below hold more of the items used at the station. Grouping these functions together makes the design easy to understand: preparing a drink, choosing a cup and putting things away all happen within the same area.
For a similar kitchen, start with the appliances you already own. Their dimensions, power requirements and manufacturer-specified clearances should inform the cabinetry, especially where an appliance sits inside a niche.
Different drawer layouts for different kitchen items
The walkthrough demonstrates a three-tier drawer arrangement at the drinks station and a two-tier arrangement in the cooking area. Cups and smaller items occupy different levels from bulkier cookware. This is more specific than simply asking for “more storage”: the drawer depth and internal division follow the things that need a home.
Soft-closing drawers are demonstrated, and the video identifies Blum drawers in the cooking area. These are features shown in this project; the exact fittings for a new kitchen should be listed in its own quotation and specification.
Condiment storage and two approaches to kitchen corners
A narrow pull-out condiment rack creates a dedicated place for smaller cooking essentials. Elsewhere, the tour demonstrates two different corner solutions: a rotating lazy Susan and a pull-out corner rack. Both make the cabinet interior easier to reach than relying only on a deep fixed shelf.
The right choice depends on the cabinet dimensions, door opening and the size of the items being stored. During planning, check the fitting’s full movement and load rating, rather than choosing by its closed appearance alone.
An aluminium-lined cabinet beneath the sink
The video opens the sink cabinet to show its aluminium-lined interior. This wet-zone detail is part of the actual project and deserves attention alongside the more visible cabinet finishes. Access to plumbing should remain practical, and any leaks or standing water still need prompt attention. A lining does not replace normal cleaning, drying or maintenance.
Tall appliance cabinetry and a drawer pantry
The tour also shows cabinetry arranged around the refrigerator and built-in appliances. Beside this tall storage zone, internal pantry drawers pull forward so that food items can be seen and reached without searching at the back of a deep shelf.
A small but useful detail is the pantry door clearance. The presenter demonstrates opening the door beyond 90 degrees before extending the internal drawers. That is the kind of movement to test on the drawings and again at handover: doors, hinges and drawers must work together.
What to plan for your own custom kitchen
- Inventory first: list cups, cookware, pantry items and appliances before choosing drawer sizes.
- Group daily activities: give drinks preparation, cooking and food storage their own practical arrangements.
- Check every opening: allow for corner fittings, appliance doors and internal drawers to move fully.
- Confirm the specification: agree finishes, hardware, lighting and wet-zone details before production.
Frequently asked questions
What storage features are shown in this kitchen?
The walkthrough shows a coffee and drinks station, multi-tier drawers, a condiment rack, rotating and pull-out corner storage, an aluminium-lined sink cabinet and a tall drawer pantry.
Can these ideas work in a smaller condo kitchen?
Some may be adaptable, but each fitting has space and clearance requirements. A measured plan and an inventory of your kitchen items will help identify which solutions are useful for your layout.
Are all the cabinets and fittings included in every kitchen package?
No single specification should be assumed from this case. Ask for the cabinet scope, hardware, appliances and installation details to be itemised in your project quotation.
